AP 4 (Dec 19 2015 – Jan 5 2016)

Our fourth group has begun to hike today to the first camp going through Puntas de Vacas. In Pampa de Leña they will enjoy a traditional argentine asado prepare for the arrieros. Gaston called from High Camp (19,700ft). Their plan is to leave early tomorrow to the summit, hoping that the weather allows them, if not they will descend to Plaza de Mulas. They are fine and the long days spent working in the mountain have prepared the climbers for the effort but everything depends on the

Finally, the group had its celebration dinner last night, in a fine steak restaurant, with some glass of Malbec wine. Now they are ready to come back home and share with their loved ones their adventure in the Aconcagua

Yesterday the team reached the summit of the highest mountain in the World outside the Himalayas (with an altitude of 22,834 ft). A great achievement that they surely never forget! They completed the Aconcagua traverse, by going down by a diferent route to the base camp of the normal route, Plaza de Mulas. And today

After moving loads yesterday , the team moved to the camp II today. They are all doing great, but it is very windy up high, so they will see tomorrow if the weather allows them to continue rising. Otherwise they will stay resting in camp II. We are attaching a picture of a group moving

The group arrived to Camp I (16,000 ft) and and they will bring a load of gear, tents and food to Camp II (18,000 ft) tomorrow. Everybody is feeling fine and doing a great job, because of the days that they spent in the base camp they have acclimated well. We will keep you posted!

The team is still resting at base camp, they decided to stay a few extra days to gain a good acclimatization because in Plaza Argentina they have some services that they won’t have at the next stop. The guide called to say that they are well and preparing to carry loads up to camp I

After three days of trekking the team arrived to Plaza Argentina (14200 ft), where they are going to rest and start preparing everything for the elevation.
