They got to the top! After a challenging day, they reached the summit of the highest peak out of the Himalayas!

The team will spend the night at High Camp and they will return to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp tomorrow.

The team successfully moved to High Camp today and they are ready to tackle the summit tomorrow!

It will be a long day, but they’ve worked hard and the group is doing a great job.

The team left this morning towards High Camp. They will spend some time there  and then get back down to Camp II to spend the night. Tomorrow they will move to High Camp. 

They will be getting  ready as they might tackle the summit the day after tomorrow depending on weather conditions.

The team is  fine and taking a rest day at Camp I .

Tomorrow they will be carrying  some  loads to Camp II  at 17,500’.

Then they will get back to Camp I to spend the night and then move up to Camp II the day after tomorrow. They will enjoy fantastic views of the Polish Glacier and  ascend scree slopes to a broad ridge crest where they will establish Camp II .

After spending some days at Base Camp, the team left this morning to Camp 1.

They are feeling great and motivated as they continue to gain more altitude.

Tomorrow they will move some loads to Camp II and get back to Camp I.

The team successfully carried some loads to Camp 1 today.

There they cached the loads and descended down to Base Camp with empty packs to spend the night. 

Tomorrow they will take a rest day and they will move up to Camp 1 the day after.

We spoke with Gastón, the lead guide, who said everyone is fine.

This amazing team got to Base Camp yesterday!

They are all doing fine and  have already got  to 13,800 feet! 

They will spend about 3 nights at Base Camp.

The first day at Base Camp is always a rest day and a good occasion to take a bath and go for a short walk. They divide the expedition loads to carry to the next camp: community gear, fuel, food and individual lunches. After resting at Base Camp, the plan will be to carry to Camp 1 and down to Base Camp again to hopefully move up the next day.

Today the team got to Casa de Piedra and hiked around enjoying the landscape and getting used to the altitude. After three days of spectacular, colorful, high desert scenery they are ready to go to Base Camp (Plaza Argentina) at 13,800 .

The team left the village of Uspallata this morning and they have started their hike towards Pampa de Leñas, the first approach camp. They are all feeling great .

Our second expedition departed for the mountain this morning!

Here we  are sharing a pic of them having dinner last night .

The team will spend the night at a hotel in Uspallata, a small village an hour away from the trailhead. Tomorrow morning they will start their approach to Base Camp, a beautiful hike up the Vacas and Ameghino Valleys.

The group is led by Gastón Molina and Florencia Torres who  will keep us updated, calling us by sat phone.
