Rolo just called from High Camp. This morning the team tried to reach the summit but the conditions and the weather did not allow them to achieve it.

They were the first group to attempt the summit this season, they had to mark the path. This work became very difficult with the intense winds and did not allow the climbers to continue climbing. It is better to be cautious, as always the safety of our members is our main concern

Now the team will complete the Aconcagua traverse, by descending to base camp Plaza de Mulas today. They will be back at the trailhead tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Surely this is an experience they will treasure the rest of their life.

Congratulation to the them for their monumental effort, they were higher than most people in the world!

The group made it safely to to High Camp (19,700ft) today. They are at almost 6000 m!

Their plan is to leave early tomorrow to the summit, the top of the highest peak outside of Himalayas, hoping that the weather allows them.

The team is feeling good, the long days spent working in the mountain have prepared the climbers for the effort but everything depends on the weather!

The team is still in camp II. They plan to go to High Camp tomorrow and try ro reach the summit on Sunday.

It has snowed more than 60 centimeters up there but the group remains strong and motivated, everybody is fine. In addition the weather will improve in the next days.

They are thinking on going to the summit after Saturday but remember that conditions in the mountain can change fast and every plan is open to change.

The team carried loads to High Camp (19,200 ft.) today. They are at almost 6000 m!

They decided to rest tomorrow and move to that camp on Friday.

Rolo said that everyone is fine and motivated, they are acclimatizing well and working hard. And the weather for the next days is still looking promising.

The group reached Camp II (17,700 ft) today. They are working hard and trying to gain altitude while keeping the energy.

There is a lot of snow and they are the first group going up this route so they are working hard to mark off the trail. But all of them are in very good condition and doing a great job.

In addition the weather for the next days looks promising.Rolo said that now they were going to eat polenta and go to sleep.

Tomorrow they will decide what to do, whether to continue to the High Camp or rest in Camp II.

The team moved to camp I (16,000 ft) yesterday. Rolo called to say that they were all well, that they had eaten a lentil stew and went to bed early.

Yesterday the day was windy, depends on the weather today they will decide how to keep moving forward. Anyway, the weather for the next few days is good.

After moving loads to Camp I (16,000 ft) yesterday the team rested in base camp today. As we said, this technique helps with the acclimatization process.

Those were their first steps in height, they are in good shape and adapting to the high altitude. Everyone is fine and preparing for move to camp 1 (16,000ft) tomorrow.

They will also get ready for the carry to camp I. From here they will do a carry of gear and food to the next camp, come back to sleep at a lower altitude, then they move to the higher camp, where they spend a rest day to do the proper acclimatization process.

Today the team began the 3-days hike through Puntas de Vacas to reach the base camp. In Pampa de Leña they will enjoy a traditional argentine asado prepare for the arrieros.
This is the first approach to the mountain, tomorrow they will be able to see the Aconcagua from the trail.

The weather looks good for the coming days so we hope they will have a pleasant walk to the base camp.
